Our Story

From riding waves to make them

OKEANOS BEGAN FROM TWO FRIENDS
THAT SHARED
A PASSION
FOR THE SEA

During diving excursions together, our founders, Florencio and Russ found themselves swimming alongside plastic bottles, straws, and bags, an issue they noticed was only getting worse. Their solution combined knowledge from their respective fields of medicine and food packaging with the principles of source reduction, and biomimicry. They rallied the world’s best engineers, chemists, designers, conservationists, geologists, physicians, writers, programmers, and even a nuclear physicist, from all corners of the world, and Okeanos was born.

Our

Vision

Our future depends on the immediate reduction of CO2 in our atmosphere and the elimination of plastic in our environment. Through innovation, education, and widespread adoption of Made From Stone technology, we can make a real difference. The world has been waiting for someone to develop a solution. Together, #WeAreTheSomeone.

Our

Okeanos

We are linked by one ocean, or Okeanos. A key figure in Greek mythology, Okeanos. is the god of the bodies of water that encircle the globe.

The founding of our modern day Okeanos was born out of a need to protect the ocean we share, which is a pivotal part of our global ecosystem, providing crucial natural resources, and playing a key role in climate control.

Together, we can secure our Okeanos and our future for generations to come.
